When life gives you lemons…

…make a rash decision and move across the country on a whim.

My last real post and life update was exactly two months ago on June 10th and I “announced” that a month later we would be moving to DC for work.  Little did we know that just two short weeks before we were supposed to move everything would change.  Things happened, shit hit the fan, and we were left to face a really hard decision within a week.  We had the decision of either continuing to move to DC even though it wasn’t going to be what we were expecting, staying in Grand Forks and just working things out, or go on an adventure and move somewhere we have been wanting to move for awhile now.  It doesn’t matter what choice we made, we would still be moving out of the house we were renting because we had already given our notice.  Kyle and I spent a week of talking to each other, our families, and close friends.  A couple friends of ours suggested that we make a pro/con list for the three different choices and rate each of them with their number of importance, so we did.  That was probably the most eye-opening experience we had together throughout the entire decision process.  It was very obvious to us that we had already made a decision without actually saying that we had made a decision.  The situation that we were put in was the most stressed out I have been in a really long time, but in the end I am glad it happened when it did and the timing of it was almost but not really perfect.

Now that it has been a month since we had to pack up all of our things and we are getting settled in I wanted to come on here and give an official update.  Kyle and I made the decision to take a chance and move somewhere we have been wanting to move to for awhile.  We are now in Las Vegas, NV!  In the past 1.5 years we have taken about 5 or 6 trips to Las Vegas and just have really fallen for this city and everything this region has to offer.  The first few months here will be a little off balance with trying to get everything together and in place but we are excited to be here and have been enjoying our time here so far.

This little space of mine has been on my mind a lot lately and I know I haven’t been around because life happens, but I am here now and am excited to continue this journey with you all.  There are a ton more that I want to talk about, but I wanted to keep this post pretty short and sweet.  Thanking you for sticking around if you have been and you will hear from me again very soon!

xoxo, Sammi

New to your blog – part of the 3S group 🙂 Sounds very exciting (albeit stressful) moving to a new place on a whim! The farthest I’ve gone from my hometown is 5 hours… IL (near STL) to KC. I’m here to stay though as the BF has a business to run.

    • Thank you for stopping by Tiffany! Can’t wait to get to know you better!
