Blogmas 2013 Day 6: Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm For Lips Review

Hi lovelies!

Today I am here to share a product review with you all.  I am subscribed to Birchbox and have been for over a year now.  I have signed up to be a part of ‘Birchbloggers’ and they give bloggers a chance to review products and what not.  I was lucky enough to be chosen to review the Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips!  I was sent a .507fl oz/15ml tube for free to test (full-size) and give an honest review on my blog. (Thank you Birchbox!)

During the winter time my lips are absolutely HORRIBLE.  They become very dry and chapped.  Over the years I have tried many lip products to help out with my lips.  Some have been great and most just don’t to what they say at all.  When I was given the chance to be chosen to review this product I had to jump right on it!  SO let’s get to it!

I like the packing as far as it looks.  It’s design is sleek and eye catching for me.  I like that it is mostly black packaging.  The only problem I can foresee in the future is that it is a tube and it will be hard to get the product out when it is almost gone.  I may just have to cut it open at that point!

Texture/Look of the product:

The Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips is a very thick product, but isn’t super sticky like some lipgloss.  It feels more like a lipgloss than it does a ‘balm’.  The balm itself is colorless, fragrance free, and 100% natural.  It has a high-gloss, glossy finished look to it as well.

My thoughts on the product:

At first, when I felt how thick it was, I thought I wasn’t going to like it at all!  I tried it out and I really loved the consistency of it!  Like I said above, it isn’t super sticky like some glosses can be and that was a HUGE plus for me.  My lips don’t stick together at all and typically my hair doesn’t stick to my lips either.  It is long-lasting and very moisturizing! It instantly relieves any pain when applied!  It stays with me in my purse at all times and has been the first thing I reach for when my lips are hurting.  I also apply it to my lips before going to bed.  Although it says it’s for lips, that isn’t the only thing I use it for!  Around my nose often tends to get dry/chapped (even if I put on lotion) so I will apply the balm to the outer part of my nose and it helps to relieve the pain and helps to keep it moisturized.

The Price:

For the 15ml tube that I received, you can purchase it at the Birchbox shop for $14.50.  You can purchase it a other places for either the same price or higher.  It is currently sold out online at Sephora.

Is it worth it?

For myself, I think it is totally worth it.  The price is a little hefty for a lip balm but I reach for it so much because it actually helps my lips and other areas.  I will for sure be repurchasing this product when I run out!  If you get dry chapped lips during the winter I would definitely recommend that you try this product!

Have you tried the Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips?
